Fan Rankings 2023

Sam Thayer

by Sam Thayer (with a little help from Matt Rooney and Kenny Brown)

Tier 1: League Stars

Sophia - Sophia comes to every NSL game and helps with logistics, as well as game prep. Additionally, she helps with media (big plus) and has major influence with the commissioner. The number one spot is hers.

Emma - Emma is willing to help NSL in any way, whether that means taking stats, playing as an alt, or being a ref. She also shit talks people from the scorers table which makes people laugh.

Tier 2: OG heads

Ashley - Ashley came to a ton of games last season and has a lot of friends in NSL. Anticipate her to be at almost every game this season. Also, she's a great Fortnite player - which helps boost her stock.

Mia - Mia is a day one fan of the league and has attended numerous games since the league’s inception.

Tier 3: Risers

Jessy - Despite not living in Newton, Jessy has attended a ton of games and has made a celebrity out of her pet bunny Cig. Jessy brings good vibes.

Ezra - Ezra is a part of the Will Brown hype squad and will also bring people from UMass occasionally.

Sebastian - Sebastian is also a part of the Will Brown hype squad, but his Horace Mann roots gain him favorability from Sam and Henri. Look for Sebastian to try his hand as an NSL alt this year.

Denis - Denis brought his uncle to a pickup sesh and his uncle pissed off Cooke, which was one of the best NSL moments of last year. Denis also has the ability to rattle numerous players in the league.

Grace - Grace is a new face and name to many in the league. However, expect her to attend all of her boyfriend’s (Sammy) games. Also, Grace is close with Sophia and is in multiple group chats with league execs.

Manny - Manny attended his first NSL game last year and brought a camera worth more than $5,000. If that’s not dedication, I don’t know what is.

Tier 4: Former players

Lucas - Lucas unfortunately moved to NYC, however he is extremely active on social media. Expect him to tune into numerous live streams this year.

Arik - Arik is another player who moved to another state, as he resides in sunny LA. However, Arik still keeps track of the league and asks about people’s stats.

Cian - Cian is the king of Twitter, and NSL is no different. You can always rely on him to stir the pot and rattle the masses.

Grant - Grant does not engage with NSL anymore, and he is starting to fade as a fan. He is too busy posting thirst traps on IG.

Waterhouse - Waterhouse was the OG sponsor of NSL, however Kenny has taken his place (both as sponsor and as a scooter driver). Waterhouse could become an NSL legend if he brings his chef abilities to Newton for a cookout.

Kyle - Kyle Bloom’s existence is taken into question every few months, but he lets you know he’s alive when he posts the most indie film pics on IG. We miss you Kyle!

Fogel - Fogel talks to several NSL members on the regular, and he also makes songs for NSL players, including Mr. Firm.

Will Thompson - Will is fairly active on NSL social media, and you can expect him to come to some games this summer as well.

Diego - Diggy is a total legend and the future of the league, but he doesn’t act like it as much as he should. He needs to do a better job promoting NSL within the Newton North hallways.

David Speidel - Speidel absolutely blew up the league when he decided to quit a few years ago. He is one of the only people on the NSL blacklist.

Chris - Chris is leaving Newton in March to serve in the Air Force. He has promised a fly over during the national anthem on opening day.

Tier 5: Faders

Shemara - Shemara could have led the WNSL initiative, but instead she spent her time traveling the globe last summer. How many games will she attend this year? We will see.

Tali - Tali was one of the best NSL fans in high school, but she has faded in recent years. She is a strong candidate as a comeback fan this year, though.

Sophie - Sophie cares a lot about the league, and got several Tulane students to vote on an NSL poll. Her past with Kenny Brown has resulted in her falling in the fan rankings.

Suphie - Suphie could be a surprise riser in the fan rankings this year now that she has graduated. Ultimately, it will depend on how often Tali and Sophie come though.

Ethan - Ethan has been a fan of the league for years now, and despite his constant requests, he has never been allowed to play. However, he may be allowed to play in a game this year, as long as he shoots lefty.

Seika - Seika lives 2 minutes from Matt but barely comes to NSL. Seika needs to do something to prove she belongs in this tier and not the worst tier.

Julia - Julia was a great fan last year, but her new boyfriend and her nursing schedule will be a BIG hit to her ability to attend NSL this year.

Nour - Nour lives in NYC full time now, and doesn’t have the attendance record that she had in high school. Also, she is the only person to have been fired from the NSL media team.

Katelyn - Katelyn will make occasional appearances with her starbucks refresher, and she will bring Carson as well.

Tier 6: New kids on the block

Caroline - Caroline has watched every NSL podcast this year and has memorized Kenny’s previous stats. She will make many appearances at NSL this summer and could make a jump all the way up to the first tier.

Nia - Nia hasn’t interacted with the league much but she will come with her roommates this summer. When she comes, she will be rooting for Erik Brown.

Nirali - Similar to her roommates, Nirali will come to a lot of games this summer, but has to prove herself as a fan.

Tiff - I don’t expect Tiff to come to many games this summer, but when she will, she will bring good vibes. Tiff is a wildcard.

Colleen - Colleen has watched NSL podcasts with Caroline and has proved herself as a dedicated virtual fan. Will that translate into in-person games? We will see.

Kerry - Kerry is a lowkey fan of the league, and the fact that she will have to drive Colleen to games could turn her off from the league. She prefers to watch hockey.

Pat - Pat has the chance to rise up the fan rankings. He is a great person who will enjoy the NSL gameday experience, which will entice him to attend more games

Derek - Derek is Max’s right hand man, so he will be coming a ton this summer. Also, he is in the alt player pool, and could see some NSL minutes.

Tier 7: Virtual fans

Bruno - Bruno is an OG head and could have been an NSL legend if he was younger. He will make an occasional appearance, especially if Arik is in town.

Dom Emmanuel - Dom is a huge IG supporter and loves to interact with polls and posts. Shoutout to Dom.

Anat - Anat votes in many NSL polls, especially if they involve her sons.

Swain - Swain recently became an NSL fan, and he is big in the NSL twitter space. Look for him to come to a ton of games this summer.

Jack Norton - Jack Norton has followed NSL for a while, and he may even have an NSL burner, which should be fact checked. Jack hasn’t come to many games though, which is disappointing

Michela - There may have been a time were Michela came to games, but those times are long gone. Despite that, Michela will leave funny and supporter comments on IG occasionally.

Dom/Vin - Dom & Vin are Max and David’s boys, but they are not moving here until September. They will have the chance to move up the fan rankings next year.

Will Keisel - One of North America's greatest rizzers, Will has proudly represented the United States in the European Rizz Games. His loyalty to Henri and Kenny is very very high.

Tier 8: Siblings

Ciara - Ciara has been an IG follower of the league since Day 1, but has rarely made appearances at games. With Cian retired, this doesn't look like it'll change.

Emma Greenstein - Even from Philly, Emma is a major follower on instagram, and mainly cheers for Nathan and Eli. But, she’s also loyal to all Franklin alumni.

Lily Rousseau - Lily has only come to a few games since the league began, but she gets MAJOR props for having an NSL burner account.

Avi AC - Avi, if you visit Newton this summer, let us know and we can get you into a game. We appreciate all of the twitter support!

Tom Roon - Even though he’s the current Commissioner of the NSL G-League, like Diggy, he doesn’t rep the league like he should - given he’s the future of it. After giving Sophia his nintendo switch, he’s gotten back on her good side after years of bullying. This may help him rise up on the rankings this summer.

Will Roon - Will Roon is a former all star who stays in tune with the league on social media. Busy w his frat duties down in Florida, Will’s relationship with NSL is trending in the wrong direction.

Joey Brown - Joey comes to playoff games and brings a crew with him. Keep a lookout as he could shoot up the fan power rankings this year.
